Rule 71
Compulsory Retirement
: (1) Police personnel shall automatically retire from police service on the basis of the following whichever occurs first:-
(a) If the following age of the police officer holding the following position is completed:-
(1) Deputy Inspector General of Police – 56 years
(2) Senior Superintendent of Police or Superintendent of Police – 55 years
(3) Deputy Superintendent of Police – 54 years
(4) Inspector of Police – 53 years
(5) Sub-Inspector of Police – 52 years
(b) If the police officer who has been in the following position for the following period completes the said period:-
(1) Deputy Inspector General of Police – 5 years
(2) Senior Superintendent of Police – 6 years
(3) Superintendent of Police – 10 years
(c) If the employment period of police personnel is completed for thirty years.
(2) For the purposes of clause (a) of sub-rule (1), in calculating the age of a police officer, the age from the date of birth or the year mentioned in the certificate of citizenship submitted by him, the age from the date of birth or the year mentioned in the certificate of educational qualification submitted by him or The age will be calculated based on the date of birth or the age given in writing in the personal job description (citrol) from the age from which he retires first.
(3) In the case of a police employee who retires in accordance with clause (b) or (c) of sub-rule (1), if there is a remaining period of age as per clause (a), the pension he will get will be calculated by adding the remaining period.
(4) appointed to the Police Service or Nepal Special Service before 15 February 2049 and transferred to the Center from the then Special Police Department. According to (1), a police employee who has retired or is about to retire at the time of his appointment, the pension he will get will be calculated by adding the remaining age to retire according to the regulations related to his service and group.
